How do I stop getting motion sickness from video games?

Dear Mother,

I was never allowed to play games as a kid. Yep, I had those parents. I've been trying to get into them as an adult, but I'm hitting a major wall. I turn out to get really motion sick, and sometimes get visual migraines, especially from first person games.

I love so much *about* games. I love hearing about games from people I love, and reading about games here and on Aftermath (RIP Killscreen,) and the few games that I'm able to play, I really love. But every time I try to play most games, I feel like I'm about to hurl! What can I do? Am I doomed to just read excellent games coverage but never play them myself?

Thanks,

Motion Sicko (yes! ha ha! yes!)
