What the war in Iran means for people who make and play games

Dear Mother,
I was playing Relooted and made the mistake of scrolling down on the library page of steam, revealing the 'community' posts. It was the same horrendous BS I'd expect, but it hit different this time. For the first time in years, I started to wonder if video games was a space I wanted to be in anymore.
I come from a proud punk town that has been happy to tell it's fair share of nazis to f*ck off. But while that works in person (because they're notoriously cowards), I struggle to find a way to push back online that is in anyway effective, especially when platforms like steam refuse to do anything about it. Maybe it's a cycle, or maybe it's just gotten so bad recently that even my insulated spaces have come under assault, but it just feels like its become too much.
What do you do when telling nazis to f*ck off isn't enough?
Sincerely,
Meandering in Michigan
Dear Meandering,
