Where are the games set outside of the US, UK, and Japan?

I, too, long for a game that captures the feeling of traipsing through Aotearoa's subtropical wonderland

Hey Mother,

I’m from New Zealand and can’t believe an indie, let alone a AAA game, hasn’t been set in this diverse, gorgeous environment! I'm aware this is the case for so many smaller countries and regions and it’s such a shame when there’s a glut of games largely set in the U.S., U.K., & Japan.

So mother, what are suggestions for lesser known games with real world settings that aren’t in those major regions?

Regards,
A flightless bird

Kia ora flightless,

Thanks for speaking directly to my heart with this question. I spent a year and a half in New Zealand during the pandemic, and I, too, long for video games that capture the feeling of traipsing through the unbelievable subtropical wonderland.
