Lust in space: Stellar Blade vs. NieR:Automata

What unites Eve and 2B — and what divides them

The boy is supine, waiting. She straddles him, shifts her weight forward. Her hands wrap around his throat. They close. The body squirms and shakes and goes slack. Route A of NieR:Automata has ended with a not-so-coy depiction of femdom play that represents the consummation of the game's unspoken yearning. The scene leads into rebirth, into a new relationship, as the characters, symbolically, have sex.
